UBG, PPerdana, Loh and Loh up on takeover offer

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of UBG BHD [] climbed in early trade on Thursday, Sept 30 after it received a notice of mandatory takeover offer from PetroSaudi International Ltd, Seychelles and Sheikh Tarek Essam Ahmad Obaid.

At 9.35am, it was up 21 sen to RM2.46 with 3.68 million shares done.

The FBM KLCI inched up 0.6 of a point to 1,462.38. The broader market was mixed with 151 gainers, 128 losers and 181 stocks unchanged. Trading volume was 149.53 million shares valued at RM135.65 million.

PetroSaudi, via Javace Sdn Bhd, and parties acting in concert had offered RM2.50 per share. This is the latest development since December last year when PetroSaudi made the offer to take UBG private and delist it.

Also up were PUTRAJAYA PERDANA BHD [] and Loh & Loh Corp Bhd which received the notice of mandatory takeover offer from PetroSaudi to acquire the shares at RM4.85 each.

Putrajaya Perdana added 50 sen to RM4.70 while Loh & Loh climbed 21 sen to RM4.70.
