KUALA LUMPUR: PETRONAS GAS BHD [] has secured a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification projects from its parent, Petroliam Nasional Bhd.
Petronas Gas said on Wednesday, Dec 1, it had signed a heads of agreement with Petronas for the development of the project and the provision of the facilities to the latter.
The project would be built in Sungai Udang port, Melaka and would include two floating storage units (FSUs) to receive and store LNG; an island jetty and regasification units to regasify LNG; and subsea and onshore pipelines to transport the regasified LNG to the Peninsular Gas Utilisation pipeline network.
'The regasification facilities will have a maximum send-out capacity of 3.8 million tonnes per annum. The expected completion date of the project is July 31, 2012. Source of funding for the project is expected to be from internally generated funds,' said Petronas Gas.
