KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of MALAYAN UNITED INDUSTRIES BHD [] (MUI)''advanced in active trade on Tuesday, Nov 30 after it posted net profit of RM33.04 million in its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010, compared with RM4.51 million a year ago.
At 9.11am, it was up two sen to 20.5 sen with 1.2 million shares done.
The FBM KLCI rose 0.66 of a point to 1,496.61. Turnover was 50.38 million shares valued at RM61.33 million. There were 89 gainers, 82 losers and 104 stocks unchanged.
MUI explained on Monday the higher net profit was also due to a reversal of impairment in an associate amounting to RM17.98 million.
Revenue was 2.7% lower at RM238.45 million compared with RM245.09 million a year ago, Earnings per share were 1.63 sen compared with 0.23 sen.
