FBM KLCI rebounds in early trade

KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI rebounded in early trade on Tuesday, Oct 19 and opened in positive'' territory in line with the higher overnight close at Wall Street.

At 9.10am, the index was up 5.76 points to 1,486.46, lifted by gains including at BAT, Genting, CIMB and PLUS.

Gainers led losers by 169 to 45, while 109 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 84.29 million shares valued at RM52.92 million.

Among the major gainers, BAT was up 18 sen to RM47.82, Genting rose 14 sen to RM10.24, Batu Kawan gained 12 sen to RM15.70, Lafarge Malayan Cement up 10 sen to RM8, CIMB added five sen to RM7.96 and PLUS was up two sen to RM4.36.

Other gainers included Ewein, Fima Corp and TRC.

Among the early decliners were Cymao, Zhulian, Sarawak PLANTATION []s, Maybulk, ALIRAN IHSAN RESOURCES BHD [], AHMAD ZAKI RESOURCES BHD [] and Karambunai.
