KUALA LUMPUR:'' CIMB Bank Bhd's 93.15% subsidiary CIMB Thai Bank Pcl (CIMB Thai) saw its net profit decline 61% year-on-year to 179.62 million baht (RM18.69 million) for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010 from 461.44 million baht previously.
For the nine-month period, net profit was 893.60 million bahts from a net loss of 840.60 million baht a year earlier, according to a statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) on Tuesday, Oct 19.
It posted consolidated total income of 5.24 billion baht from 5.34 billion bahts a year earlier, which it said was due to a 12% decline in non-interest income to 207.6 million baht, which was reflective of lower gains from its investments.
