TRC gets RM43.8m contract from Putrajaya Holdings

KUALA LUMPUR: TRC SYNERGY BHD []'s wholly owned CONSTRUCTION [] arm Trans Resources Corporation Sdn Bhd has secured a contract to undertake the construction of 2 types of public housing at Precinct 8 (Phase 1), Putrajaya worth RM43.8 million.

In a statement Wednesday, April 20, TRC said the contract was scheduled to be completed within 20 months.

It said the project involved the construction of 40 units of 3-storey semi-detached and 4 units of two-and a half-storey semi detached public housing at two different parcels of land at Precinct 8, Putrajaya.

The project will also include the construction of 2 mock up show houses, to be completed within 12 months from the date of site possession on April 20, 2011.

TRC executive chairman Datuk Seri Sufri Mohd Zin said the company won the contract due to its track record in timely and quality delivery.

'In the past, we have successfully executed more than RM200 million worth of jobs for Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd.

'Therefore we are very pleased to undertake the projects and will complete them within the timeframe stipulated,' he said.

Sufri said that going forward, the company remained optimistic that its initiatives to bid for projects under SCORE would be favorably considered by the relevant authorities.

He said that so far, TRC had submitted numerous tenders for the SCORE projects worth more than RM 1 billion.

Sufri said TRC was a contender for the SCORE initiatives being among the very few Peninsula-based construction players which are also registered as Sarawak UPK Class A license holder.

Being a Sarawak UPK Class A license holder, TRC was poised to secure state-funded contracts which are opened to license holders only, he said.

Including this contract, TRC has an order book close to RM1.3 billion, which will keep the company busy for the next 3 years, he said.
