KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd has inked a 'fiberisatrion' leasing agreement with Sacofa Sdn Bhd which will include the fiberisation of all Celcom's 400 Node-B and bas station in Sarawak.
The agreement, which was signed on Monday, April 18, would include the provision of trunk capacity in Sarawak plus the provision of cross ocean submarine capacity by Sacofa.
Celcom chief executive officer Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly said under the agreement with Sacofa sould provide an optimum environment for its users especially those using smartphones and tablets.
Sacofa is'' a communication towers and fibre-optic infrastructure provider in Sarawak.
This 1- year project is expected to be completed in two years and will cost RM168 million, which is part of its operating costs.
