KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's industrial production index (IPI) in September 2010 increased by 5.6% on-year, following strong growth in the manufacturing output but it declined on-month by 0.8%.
The Statistics Department said on Wednesday, Nov 10 the IPI in August 2010 was revised 3.8% on-year.
'The increase in September 2010 was due to the increases in all indices: manufacturing (7.6%), mining (1.7%) and electricity (3.1%),' it said.
The index for the third quarter of 2010 increased 4.3% as compared with the third quarter of 2009.
