KUALA LUMPUR: Buyers jumped into the market in early trade on Monday, Nov 8, as it played catch-up with key regional markets, sending the FBM KLCI past the all-time closing high of 1,516.
The 30-stock index looked poised to attempt to breach the all-time intra-day high of 1,524.
At 9.13am, the KLCI was up 9.08 points to 1,520.92. Turnover was 131.5 million shares valued at RM140.25 million. Advancers beat decliners 350 to 49 while 115 stocks were unchanged.
Sunrise surged 58 sen to RM3.10 with 13.19 million shares done and UEM Land 10 sen higher to RM2.36 after both counters resumed trading following a conditional takeover offer from UEM Land Bhd at an offer price of RM2.80 per share.
Other gainers were Nestle, rallying 68 sen to RM44.48 with 100 shares done, HL Industries rose 21 sen to RM5.20, F&N 20 sen to RM14.50, Sime Darby 17 sen to RM9.10, Batu Kawan 16 sen to RM15.30, Kulim 16 sen also to RM12.10 and Genting 12 sen to RM10.80.
