Symphony House posts 3Q net loss of RM4.57m

KUALA LUMPUR: SYMPHONY HOUSE BHD [] posted net loss of RM4.57 million in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2010 when compared with net profit of RM2.23 million a year ago.

It said on Wednesday, Nov 10 revenue dipped 2% to RM40.36 million compared with RM41.17 million a year ago mainly due to the lower transaction volume in the cheque processing business unit further to client attrition in 2009. Loss per share was 0.72 sen.

Symphony House said the group registered a loss before tax of RM3.69 million compared to the profit before tax of RM2.75 million a year ago.

The loss was due to the erosion in margins primarily due to the increased staffing and operating expenses to support expansion in the outsourcing business coupled with the non-recurring move related costs pursuant to the group's move to its current office in Petaling Jaya.
