China shares slump 0.6 pct to lowest since March 2009

SHANGHAI: China shares closed at their lowest since March 2009 on Monday, dragged by property issues after local media reported a drop in property sales volumes during the Golden Week holiday last week as volume in Shanghai slumped to a 33-month low.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.6 percent at 2,344.8 points, with the Shanghai property index the standout underperformer, declining 2.7 percent. ' Reuters
