KUALA LUMPUR: Shareholders of Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company Sdn Bhd (KPOC) will go ahead to develop the Kebabangan gas field, located offshore Sabah. First production is expected at the end of 2014.
KPOC said on Monday, May 16 the KBB gas field is located in water depths of 100 metres to 400 metres and is part of the KBB cluster production sharing contract operated by KPOC.
KPOC is a joint operating company comprising of Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (40%), ConocoPhillips Sabah Gas Ltd (30%) and Shell Energy Asia Limited (30%).
The project will include a 12-well, two-phase drilling campaign and the fabrication and installation of an integrated drilling/production platform.
KPOC said the integrated production platform will be located on the edge of the continental shelf in 140 metres of water. It will have a design rate of 825 MMscf/d of gas export capacity and 80000 stb/d of oil export capacity.
Oil and gas will be exported via 135 km of pipelines to the Petronas Carigali'operated Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal currently under CONSTRUCTION [] at Kimanis, Sabah. First production is expected at the end of 2014.
