KUALA LUMPUR: Timber stocks Ta Ann and Jaya Tiasa, which has rallied following the aftermath of the earthquake in Japan, saw some mild profit taking in early trade on Tuesday, March 22.
At 9.25am, Ta Ann was down five sen to RM5.95 with 149,900 shares done while Jaya Tiasa shed four sen to RM5.46 with 6,000 shares done.
Ta Ann had risen from RM4.76 on March 11 while Jaya Tiasa's share price had increased from RM4.85 on expectations of a demand surge for CONSTRUCTION [] materials after the earthquake.
The FBM KLCI rose 3.68 points to 1,512.56. Turnover was 186.05 million shares done valued at Rm113.85 million. Gainers beat losers 255 to 67 while 163 stocks were unchanged.
