Berjaya Food dips, LTAT sold nearly 8m shares recently

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of Berjaya Food Bhd were marginally in the red in late afternoon on Tuesday, March 22 in thin trade but the share price was still 14.7% or 7.5 sen above its offer price of 51 sen when it was listed on Feb 18.

At 3.02pm, Berjaya Food was down 0.5 sen to 58.5 sen with 657,000 shares done.

The FBM KLCI fell 1.37 points to 1,507.51. Turnover was 948.06 million shares valued at RM962.51 million. The broader market was firmer with 430 gainers to 247 losers while 260 stocks were unchanged.

Berjaya Food said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia that Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera ceased to be a substantial shareholder after disposing of 7.97 million shares or 5.63% on March 14, reducing its stake to 2.03 million.

The superannuation fund was allotted 10 million shares or 7.07% when Berjaya Food was listed on Feb 14 as the Bumiputra allocation by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
