Plantation stocks main losers in late morning

KUALA LUMPUR: PLANTATION [] stocks were among the major decliners in late morning on Monday, March 21 in the absence of fresh developments to spur buying interest while crude palm oil third-month futures inched up RM2 to RM3,448 per tonne.

At 11.18am, the FBM KLCI was up a marginal 0.52 of a point to 1,504.41. Turnover was 334.46 million shares valued at RM389 million. There were 369 gainers, 177 losers and 224 stocks unchanged.

Genting Plantations was the top loser, down 22 sen to RM7.88 with 400 shares done, United Plantations lost 20 sen to RM16.60 and Kluang 11 sen to RM2.55. Heavyweight IOI Corp shed 11 sen to RM5.67.
