KUALA LUMPUR: TENAGA NASIONAL BHD [] plans to maintain its capital expenditure at between RM4.2 billion and RM4.5 billion for the financial years ending Aug 31, 2011 and FY2012.
Its president and CEO Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamed Noh said on Wednesday, Dec 15 that he expected capex to rise by between RM1 billion and RM2 billion in 2013 with the additional three power plants.
They are the Manjung coal-fired plant and two hydro plants in Ulu Terengganu and Ulu Jelai in Pahang
On rising coal prices, which had increased to more than US$100 per tonne, Che Khalib said he expected the current trend oo impact its third and fourth quarters of the current financial year ending Aug 31, 2011.
