JAKS rises on RM201m contract

KUALA LUMPUR: JAKS Resources Bhd's share price advanced in early trade on Wednesday, Dec 29 after it secured a RM201 million contract from a related party for the sub-structure of a commercial development project in Petaling Jaya.

At 9.01am, JAKS was up three sen to 75 sen with 1.31 million shares done.

The FBM KLCI rose 3.27 points to 1,520.71. Turnover was 9.28 million shares valued at RM7.47 million. Gainers led losers 82 to 18 while 62 stocks were unchanged.

JAKS said its unit JAKS Sdn Bhd would carry out earthworks, retaining wall, piling works and sub-structure works for the proposed commercial development from MNH Global Assets Management Sdn Bhd.

MNH Global Assets is a unit of Island Circle Development (M) Sdn Bhd. Island Circle is a major shareholder of JAKS Island Circle Sdn Bhd.
