Azlan Hashim made chairman of Metrod

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Azlan Hashim has been appointed as chairman of Metrod (Malaysia) Bhd, replacing The Lord Bagri, with effect from Monday, Dec 27 following a restructuring of the company's board.

Under the restructuring, the vice-chairman Apurv Bagri has also stepped down from the company's board.

In a statement Dec 27, Metrod said Rajan Mittal, Uday Singhi and Raghvendra Mittal had been appointed as directors.

It said due to his appointment of as the company's chairman, Azlan will relinquish his position as the chairman of the board audit committee but will remain as a member of the committee.

Metrod said Datuk Abu Hassan Kendut has been appointed as the chairman of the board audit committee, as well as the senior independent, non-executive director.

Meanwhile, Pratik Basu remains as the managing director of the company, it said.

Metrod said Rajan Mittal and Uday Singhi had together served as part of the senior management of the company for a total of over forty years.
