KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor Turf Club (STC) has extended the deadline for BERJAYA LAND BHD [] for the latter to fulfill the conditions for the proposed acquisition of a piece of land in Sungai Besi from Jan 19, 2011 to Jan 18, 2012 as part of a corporate exercise involving the development of a new turf club in Sungai Tinggi.
It said on Tuesday, Dec 28 that it was officially notified by STC about the deadline extension for several conditions which had yet to be fulfilled.
To recap, the corporate exercise would involve the proposed acquisition of about 244.79 acres of leasehold land in Sunge Besi with the existing buildings built by Selat Makmur Sdn Bhd ' a unit of Berjaya Land ' from STC for RM640 million.
The exercise would include acquiring about 750 acres of freehold land in Sungai Tinggi by Selat Makmur from BerjayaCity Sdn Bhd. BerjayaCity would be appointed the turnkey contactor to build a new turf club for RM605 million.
The conditions which had yet to be fulfilled as announced on Aug 16 were:
(a) renewal of consent by Land and Mines Department (Federal) for the transfer to Selat Makmur of the portion of Sungai Besi land which had expired on Jan 11, 2006;
(b) agreement being reached between STC and Selat Makmur on the layout plans, building plans and specifications for the new turf club while
(c) STC and SMSB had also not finalised the details for the New Turf Club.
