Market opens on softer note

KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips on Bursa Malaysia opened on a softer note on Tuesday, Nov 2 after the late spurt on Monday, with GENTING BHD [] and Genting Malaysia among the marginal decliners.

At 9.04am, the FBM KLCI fell 0.05 of a point to'' 1,509.61. Turnover was 40.46 million shares valued at RM27.04 million. There were 94 gainers, 45 losers and 112 stock unchanged.

Changhuat fell the most, down 10 sen to RM1.10 with 10,000 shares done as it may face suspension on Nov 9.

Genting Malaysia lost two sen to RM3.47 and Genting two sen to RM10.54. MMHE shed two sen to RM4.49 after its strong debut last Friday.

Malaysian Steel Works warrants jumped 19.5 sen to 41 sen with 2.48 million units done on its first day of its listing.

KL Kepong added 18 sen to RM19.96, Kulim 14 sen to RM10.30 and TH PLANTATION []s eight sen to RM1.74.

High-end property developer Sunrise continued to advance, gaining seven sen to RM2.49.
