Changhuat faces suspension over failure to submit statements

KUALA LUMPUR: CHANGHUAT CORPORATION BHD [] faces suspension with effect from Nov 9 after it failed to submit its annual audited financial statements for the financial year ended June 30, 2010.

A Bursa Malaysia circular said on Monday, Nov 1 the company had failed to submit the statements for public release within the stipulated timeframe under Bursa Securities' Main Market Listing Requirements.

Bursa Securities said if the company failed to issue the outstanding financial statements within five market days after the expiry of the relevant timeframes, in addition to any enforcement action that it may take, it would suspend the trading in the securities of such listed issuer.

'The suspension shall be effected on the next market day after the suspension deadline,' it said.

Bursa Securities said if the company 'is unable to submit the annual audited financial statements for the financial year ended June 30, 2010 before Nov 9, 2010, the trading in the above company's shares will be suspended with effect from 9am, Nov 9, 2010 until further notice,' it said.

It a listed issuer fails to issue the outstanding financial statements within six months from the expiry of the relevant timeframes, in addition to any enforcement action that Bursa Securities may take, de-listing procedures would be taken.
