KUALA LUMPUR: MUDAJAYA GROUP BHD [] is eyeing one of four ultra mega power plants (UMPP), with a capacity of 4000MW each, expected to be built in Chhattisgarh, India.
'We expect the Indian government to call for tenders for four UMPPs,' its executive director Anto Joseph told reporters after the group's AGM on Tuesday, June 8.
He said the group plans to bid for one or two of the UMPPs via a consortium of companies.
'But, just securing one is more than good enough,' he said.
The group currently has an outstanding order book of RM5.2 billion, with most of it expected to last until mid-2012, said its managing director Ng Ying Loong.
He added that the group planned to add another RM1 billion to its order book by year-end.
