KLCI falls in early trade

KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI fell sharply in early trade on Thursday, Sept 22 in line with the steep overnight losses at Wall Street and the weak opening at key regional markets after warning from the Federal Reserve that the United States faced a grim economic outlook with "significant downside risks

At 9.05am, the benchmark index lost 11.88 points to 1,407.16.

Losers beat gainers by 122 to 32, while 72 counters traded unchanged.

Among the major losers in early trade were Petronas Dagangan, Genting, Sime Darby, IJM Corp, Hong Leong Bank, Boustead, IOI Corp, Petronas Chemicals and AirAsia.
