KUALA LUMPUR: WCT BHD [] net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2011 rose 12% to RM37.79 million from RM33.75 million a year earlier, due mainly to higher contribution by the its civil engineering and CONSTRUCTION [] division.
It said on Tuesday, Aug 16 that its revenue for the quarter, however, fell to RM375.93 million from RM513.56 million. Earnings per share was 4.71 sen while net assets per share was RM1.73.
WCT declared a gross interim dividend of 5 sen per share of 50 sen to be paid on Sept 19, 2011.
For the six months ended June 30, WCT posted net profit RM75.18 million compared to RM68.7 million in 2010, on the back of revenue RM691.55 million.
On its prospect, WCT said it was confident of achieving satisfactory results for the remaining period of the financial year ending Dec 31, 2011.
