KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Rakyat posted net profit of RM788.6 million in the first half ended June 30, 2011, an increase of 23% from the RM640.30 million a year ago.
It said on Monday, July 18 pre-tax profit was RM979.9 million, up 18% from the RM828.6 million a year ago.
'The better performance for the first half of 2011 as a whole was achieved following the strong growth in financing income in line with the high growth in financing balance as well as the strengthening of asset quality,' it said.
