KUALA LUMPUR: ZECON BHD [] shares rose on Wednesday, June 8 after it received a letter of intent (LOI) from the Public Works Department to build the Petra Jaya Hospital in Kuching.
At 10.50am, Zecon was up 1.5 sen to 50 sen with 95,700 shares done.
In a filing Tuesday, June 7, Zecon said it had received the LOI dated June 3 informing it that the company would be appointed to build the hospital by the Ministry of Finance by way of direct negotiation on the "design & build" basis.
'The company was requested to proceed with the survey works, soil investigation and all related works and subsequently submit the design and funding proposals for the proposed project within 90 days upon receipt of the pre-award documents.
'Further announcement will be made on the development of the proposed project as and when applicable,' it said.
