KUALA LUMPUR: K-Star Sports Ltd notched up orders worth RM148.6 million, up 57% year-on-year at its Winter 2011 sales fair in China, for its proprietary Dixing brand footwear, apparel and accessories products.
In a statement Wednesday, June 22, K-Star said of the total order book of RM148.6 million, 82.3% was generated from the sales of its footwear with the balance accounting from their apparel and accessories products.
K-Star executive chairman and CEO Ding Jian Ping said the company was thrilled'' that its shoes'' products and'' apparels'' continued'' to'' remain popular ''due its quality and on-going new designs that had captured interests of new consumers, as well as support'' from existing consumers.
'Therefore, we are confident that we will continue to meet our investors' expectations,' he said.
Ding said that'' with'' the'' positive'' book'' order'' figures, K-Star'' was'' set'' to enhance'' and'' expand'' our ''production'' facilities as well as'' retail outlets.
'Our retail locations have increased from 769 in the first quarter of 2010 to 870 in the first quarter of 2011 with additional 11 locations and we are anticipating continuous growth and expansion in future,' he said.
He said given the increase in the purchasing power of consumers in China, the company was optimistic that the annual consumption of sportswear per individual would continue to grow.
'Thus, we ''anticipate'' that our'' revenue will'' continue'' to grow'' in'' the'' financial'' year'' ending 2011.'' In addition, our current effort to increase our production capacity will ensure that we are continuously cost-effective, while fulfilling market demands.'

These sales fairs ''are'' attended'' by'' all'' its authorised regional dealers'' in'' China,'' and'' are K-Star's'' key'' platform'' to ''showcase'' and market its ''latest'' product'' lines'' to'' existing'' distributors'' as well'' as'' potential ''distributors, he said.
In addition, these sales fairs serve as avenues to obtain market feedback on their designs and market acceptance of their Proprietary Brand's products.
The company will be holding its 2011 Annual General Meeting this Friday at the Putrajaya Marriott ''Hotel & Spa.
