Nikkei rises on U.S. stocks, Toyota earnings eyed

TOKYO, May 11 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei climbed on Wednesday helped by gains in U.S. stocks, while commodity shares outperformed on rising oil and gold prices, but investors may stay on the sidelines in morning trade ahead of economic data from China.

The benchmark Nikkei average rose 0.9 percent to 9,908.77, while the broader Topix gained 0.8 percent to 863.63. ' Reuters
