KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of Keck Seng (Malaysia) Bhd fell in early trade on Wednesday, May 25 after its'' earnings for the first quarter ended March 31, dropped 78% to RM2.96 million.
At 9.51am, it was down 14 sen to RM4.29 with 285,200 shares done.
The FBM KLCI rose 1.22 points to 1,533.34. Turnover was 133.59 million shares valued at RM221.80 million. There were 156 gainers, 190 losers and 192 stocks unchanged.
In 1QFY11, its earnings fell sharply to RM2.96 million from RM13.84 million a year ago.
'All the segments with the exception of PLANTATION [] segment have recorded a lower performance resulting in a drastic drop in group's profit as compared to the same period last year,' Keck Seng said in its statement to Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday.
