Blue chips drag FBM KLCI lower

KUALA LUMPUR: Losses at key blue chips on profit taking following the weaker close at Wall Street dragged the FBM KLCI lower in early trade on Wednesday, April 13.

At 9.30am, the benchmark index was down 7.80 points to 1,518.12.

Gainers trailed losers by 126 to 179, while 190 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 120.19 million shares valued at RM107.61 million.

The top loser was PPB that fell 36 sen to RM16.50; Petronas Dagangan fell 24 sen to RM16.08, Genting lost 18 sen to RM10.58, KLK 16 sen to RM20.84, DiGi 14 sen to RM29.52, CIMB nine sen to RM8.10, Public Bank eight sen to RM12.98, while Petronas Gas and UMW fell six sen each to RM11.24 and RM7.28.
