KUALA LUMPUR: Television support equipment provider AV Asia Sdn Bhd has filed an injunction to stop Measat Broadcast Network Systems Sdn Bhd (MBNS) from using its confidential information in the Astro Byond, HDD product.
The injunction was filed on Wednesday, Oct 27.
On Sept 28, AV Asia filed a lawsuit against MBNS and another company for alleged breach of a mutual non-disclosure agreement, claiming some RM1.3 billion in loss of potential profits.
MBNS owns and operates Astro, Malaysia's only satellite television service which holds exclusive license for direct-to-home transmission in Malaysia until 2017.
MBNS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASTRO ALL ASIA NETWORKS PLC [], which was recently de-listed from Bursa Malaysia's Main Board following a successful takeover offer by Astro Holdings Sdn Bhd.
