KUALA LUMPUR: The share price of Berjaya Corp had on Monday, June 28 fell to its lowest since February this year on investors' disappointment over the government's stance that no sports betting licence would be issued.
BCorp closed at RM1.23, down 13 sen with 27 million shares done. The share price was the lowest since Feb 5.
The weak sentiment also saw Berjaya Land shares falling 17 sen to RM4.23, the lowest since May 24. There were 201,700 units done. Berjaya Sports Toto fell three sen to RM4.30 with 4.5 million units done.
The FBM KLCI closed 0.91 of a point lower at 1,325.54. Turnover was 535.34 million units valued at RM778.39 million. There were 277 gainers, 340 losers and 241 stocks unchanged.
Other decliners were Hai-O, down 25 sen to RM3.87 after it was downgraded by OSK Research to Neutral.
SEG International's share price rally came to a halt as investors locked in gains on the education provider. It shed 19 sen to RM4.26.
Stamford College fell eight sen to 41 sen but HELP bucked the trend to rise two sen to RM3.22.
But glove makers ended higher, lifted by gains in Top Glove which had projected higher earnings.
Top Glove rose 28 sen to RM13.66 with 1.07 million units done, Hartalega 25 sen to RM8.18 and Kossan 22 sen to RM7.81.
