KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz added another accolade to her illustrious career after she was honoured with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the fifth annual Islamic Business & Finance Awards held in Dubai on Dec 21.
Meanwhile, CIMB Islamic walked away with the award for best commercial bank while Standard Chartered Saadiq, Malaysia was named the best international bank.
The annual ceremony is designed to highlight, encourage and reward the exceptional performance and growth of the Islamic business and finance community, while individual prizes were awarded to finance professionals whose outstanding contributions have led to the exceptional growth of this sector.
In a statement Dec 21, CPI Financial, the publisher of the monthly Islamic Business & Finance magazine said the corporate categories short-list was compiled by an international panel of judges and given to voters to determine the winners amongst the top institutions, while the individual categories were 'write-ins' in which members of the global Islamic financial services industry nominated and recognized those individuals worthy of the awards.
