KUALA LUMPUR: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November rose 2% year-on-year to 115.0 from 112.8 a year ago, and was up 0.3% on a month-on-month basis.
For the period of January to November 2010, the CPI increased by 1.7% to 113.9 compared with that of 112.0 in the same period last year.
In a statement Wednesday, Dec 22, the Department of Statistics Malaysia said the index for Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Non-Food for the month of November 2010 compared to the same month in 2009 showed increases of 3% and 1.4% respectively.
'For the period January to November 2010, the index for Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Non-Food increased by 2.4% and 1.3% respectively.
'Compared to the previous month, the index for Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Non-Food increased by 0.6% and 0.1% respectively,' it said
