MAEMode and consortium members land US$33.8m job in Kalimantan

KUALA LUMPUR: MALAYSIAN AE MODELS HOLDINGS [] Bhd's (MAEMode) 99.92% subsidiary and its consortium partners have secured a contract worth US$33.8 million (RM104.78 million) for the design, CONSTRUCTION [] and remedying defects of the Kariangau 2 x 15 MW Coal Fired Steam Power Plant in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

MAEMode said on Tuesday, Dec 21 that the contract was awarded by PT. Kariangau Power.

The company said its subsidiary PT AE Material Handling Systems (PTAEMHS) was principally involved in the trading of goods and machinery.

'The scope of works of PTAEMHS is responsible for overall project coordination and the erection of all plant and equipment supplied by Shandong Machinery I & E Group Corporation as Consortium Member Two (together with PT. Cipta Total Solusindo as Consortium Member Four which is responsible for the supervision of the erection of the electrical plant and equipment),' it said.

It said all payments due from PT Kariangau Power in respect of the Contract Works would be made to PTAEMHS, which will in turn make payment to the other consortium members.
It said the contract works would be completed within twenty-four months of the commencement date.

MAEMode said the contract was expected to contribute positively to its future earnings.
