Jetson dips in early trade over Matrade dispute

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of KUMPULAN JETSON BHD [] eased in early trade on Monday, Sept 6 after a dispute over the new trade exhibition centre for the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade).

At 9.16am, it was down five sen to RM1.14 with 162,500 shares done.

The FBM KLCI rose 3.46 points to 1,439.13. Turnover was 77.39 million shares valued at RM74.86 million. There were 182 gainers, 52 losers and 115 stocks unchanged.

Last Friday, Sept 3 Jetson said the Naza Group's TTDI KL Metropolis Sdn Bhd (TKLM) has terminated the shareholders' agreement with Jetson to build a new trade exhibition centre for Matrade on a joint-venture basis.

Jetson said the termination arose from disagreements on certain commercial terms relating to the project costs for the Matrade centre in Jalan Dutamas which was expected to cost RM628 million.
