SINGAPORE: Malaysian national energy firm Petronas plans to shut its Tapis oilfield in August for maintenance, two industry sources said on Monday, June 14.
The seven wells at the field, off peninsular Malaysia's east coast, will take turns to shut, keeping output disruption to a minimum, they added.
Field operator Exxon Mobil Corp will carry out preliminary works for an enhanced oil recovery project at the field during the 30-40 days maintenance, one source said.
Petronas spokesman could not be immediately contacted while a spokeswoman at ExxonMobil said the company does not comment on operational matters. ' Reuters
