KUALA LUMPUR: NextVIEW Sdn Bhd, the International College of Yayasan Melaka (ICYM) and the Federation of Peninsular Malay Students' Union (GPMS) have sealed an agreement to collaborate in offering the Professional Certification in Financial Investment Programme to ICYM bumiputera students and the Malaysian student community.
The agreement will see ICYM tapping NextVIEW's expertise in financial investment education.
The programmes offered include Professional Certification in Advisory Services (PCAS), Professional Certification in Equities Trading (PCET) and Professional Certification in Derivatives Trading (PCDT). Each programme will run about three months.
'We are confident that the programme will further increase the skills and competencies of graduates and prepare them to seek employment with higher salaries and to assist the less fortunate graduates who are not able to find employment due to a lack of skills,' said ICYM CEO Datuk Saroni Judim on Thursday, Oct 13.
The certification programme aims to prepare graduates to secure a job in the capital market industry besides obtaining the capital market services representative licence (CMSRL) issued by the Securities Commission.
NextVIEW will place graduates with established investment banks and stocks/futures broking companies.
'NextVIEW has conducted training for nine batches of graduates and all have secured job placement with the investment banks. Our students' outstanding achievements demonstrated our credibility,' said NextVIEW chairman Datuk Yusli Mohamed Yusoff.
GPMS will act as programme facilitator to get students of public and private higher institutions work-ready with professional skills.
The agreement was inked between Yusli and Saroni in the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam and GPMS president Jais Abdul Karim.
