KLCI extends losses, Maybank weighs

KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI extended its losses on Monday, Sept 26 weighed by key blue chips including Maybank, Public Bank and Sime Darby.

At 9.05am, the 30-stock index fell 12.75 points to 1,353.19.

Losers beat gainers by 96 to 21, while 76 counters traded unchanged. Volume was 16.4 million shares valued at RM19.83 million.

Maybank continued to slide on concerns that it could face a derating risk. The stock fell 14 sen to RM7.85 with 188,200 shares done.

Meanwhile, Public Bank lost 14 sen to RM12.30 and Sime Darby was down 11 sen to RM7.99.

Other decliners included KLK, DiGi, Dutch Lady, YTL Cement and United PLANTATION []s.
