KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd has approached the Sabah government to take a stake in its US$1.5 billion fertiliser plant in Sipitang, Sabah.
PetChem chairman Datuk Wan Zulkiflewe Wan Ariffin said on Tuesday, July 26 that it had approached the government a few months ago.
'We are opened for them to take a 25% stake in the plant,' he said after the AGM.
On June 30, PetChem annnounced it has reached the decision to develop a new world-scale fertiliser plant in Sipitang.
The project is conditional upon reaching agreement with the Sabah State Government on land related matters, it had said.
