CBSA active, up at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR: ''CBSA Bhd shares were actively traded on Monday, July 18 as the little-known company makes plans to go regional on the back of its partnership with US giant Google Inc.

At 11am, CBSA was up two sen to 37 sen with 1.59 million shares done.

In mid-June this year, CBSA agreed with Google to provide it with business listings in six Southeast Asian countries for tabulation of Google Maps, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.

CBSA director Fong Wai Leong told The Edge Financial Daily that expanding regionally was the company aspiration, adding that limiting its operations in Malaysia would hamper growth.

'We want to go regional. And in terms of which is the better business to go regional with, [search and advertising] is the better one,' he said.
