KUALA LUMPUR: CB INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT HOLDING [] Bhd (CBIP) is planning to expand its PLANTATION [] landbank in Malaysia this year which could include brownfield plantation land, said its managing director Lim Chai Beng.
CBIP directly owns 8,000 hectares of plantation land in Malaysia and has another 7,200 hectares via joint ventures with other companies.
The group also has about 8,000 hectares of land in central Kalimantan, of which about 2,000 hectares has been planted.
As for CBIP's mill engineering business, Lim said the group's order book and tender book stood at RM400 million each, including bids to construct mills under the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) scheme.
"Crude palm oil prices are not in our control but we can see demand and prices working in our favour. We would like to expand our plantations if there are opportunities," Lim told reporters after CBIP's annual general meeting on Monday, May 30.
