KUALA LUMPUR: ATIS CORPORATION BHD [] net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011 jumped 41.5% to RM8.12 million from RM5.74 million a year earlier, due mainly to the contribution of MUTIARA GOODYEAR DEVELOPMENT [] Bhd.
Mutiara is a 60.8%-owned subsidiary of Atis IDR Ventures Sdn Bhd, which is a 55.01%-owned subsidiary of Atis Corp that was acquired during the last financial year.
Revenue for the quarter surged to RM288.29 million from RM131.64 million in 2010.
Earnings per share was 5.53 sen while net assets per share was RM2.16.
Reviewing its performance on Monday, May 30, Atis said that in view of the expected improvement in operating and economic environment, it was optimistic of its prospects.
'Barring any unexpected changes to the business environment, the management anticipates its performance for the remaining period of the year to be satisfactory,' it said.
