KUALA LUMPUR: SEGi University College (SUC) students pursuing its business and accounting degree programmes will receive separate degree scrolls issued by the University of Abertay Dundee, apart from their SEGi degree parchments under an academic arrangement between the two parties.
SEG INTERNATIONAL BHD [] said on Monday, March 7 that SUC had signed a memorandum of agreement with University of Abertay Dundee to facilitate the academic arrangement.
It said the SUC programmes covered under the arrangement were the 3-year Bachelor of Business Management (Hons) programmes with specialisations available in General Management, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Marketing Management and Human Resource Management, as well as the 4-year Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) programme.
SEG International said the recognition of SEGi's homegrown degree awards by the University of Abertay Dundee was testament of the high quality of teaching, research and facilities offered by the former.
It also translates into substantial cost-savings for SEGi students who will obtain a separate qualification from a leading university from the United Kingdom upon completion of their studies in Malaysia at SEGi University College, without additional modules or time needed to qualify, it said.
The MOA was signe by SUC's vice chancellor Emeritus Professor Dr. Muhamad Awang and Professor Steven Olivier, University of Abertay Dundee academic development pro-vice chancellor.
