KLCI opens 7 points up, Genting lifts

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia started the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit on a strong note on Monday, Feb 7, with the FBM KLCI advancing more than seven points, boosted by Genting.

At 9am, the FBM KLCI was up 7.31 points to 1,539.13. Turnover was 49.69 million shares valued at RM22.32 million. There were 196 gainers, 19 losers and 82 stocks unchanged.

Genting rose 16 sen to RM11.50 with 65,700 shares done while BHIC added 14 sen to RM4.15 and HL Bank 13 sen to RM9.49 with just 100 shares done.

PLANTATION []s rose, underpinned by the strong crude palm oil prices. Kulim rose 16 sen to RM13.44, Tradewinds Plantations 14 sen to RM3.47 and IJM Plantations eight sen to RM3.08.
