Leong Hup, Emivest major shareholder to undertake corporate exercise

KUALA LUMPUR: The major shareholder of LEONG HUP HOLDINGS BHD [] and EMIVEST BHD [] plans to under a corporate exercise, involving a very substantial transaction.

Trading in the shares of both companies has been voluntarily suspended from trading from 12.28pm on Tuesday, Nov 16 until 5pm on Thursday.

Both companies said they had been informed by their major shareholder, that it would propose a corporate exercise involving a very substantial transaction, as defined under the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd.

Both companies have common shareholders while Lau Bong Wong is chairman of Leong Hup and also chairman and managing director of Emivest.

Mega Perfect Malaysia Sdn Bhd is the single largest shareholder of Emivest with 33.07% stake or 39.68 million shares. Leong Hup Management Sdn Bhd holds 47.47% or 79.14 million shares of Leong Hup.

Leong Hup was last traded at RM1.69 and Emivest at 82 sen.'' Leong Hup is involved in the poultry business, PLANTATION []s and property development while Emivest's core activities are animal feel and poultry.
