KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia will hold its inaugural 'Business Sustainability Programme' on Nov 23 and the objective is to emphasise the significance of sustainability practices in driving business value.
The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak will officiate at the programme, which is aimed at Corporate Malaysia.
'Bursa Malaysia views sustainability as an integral element in building a capital market of quality and integrity, hence this comprehensive programme will augur well towards raising the bar in terms of sustainability practices and reporting by listed companies,' it said on Tuesday, Nov 16.
The programme was also in line with the stock exchange operator's continuous efforts to enhance the competitiveness and attractiveness of Bursa Malaysia as a listing and investment destination.
Targeted at listed companies, this programme will consist of initiatives and tools that can be used across many sectors.
Panel sessions are also scheduled to give further insight on sustainable business practices. The panel sessions will feature constructive discussions between prominent corporate figures and advocators of sustainability.
