Hwang DBS Vickers Research: Market in consolidation mode

KUALA LUMPUR: Hwang DBS Vickers Research said from a technical perspective, it seems that the benchmark FBM KLCI could have already found an intermediate bottom at last week's trough of 1,488.

'Nevertheless, the recovery process may be slow as the market remains in a consolidation mode,' it said on Tuesday, Nov 16.

Hwang DBS Vickers Research said there was no fresh overnight lead coming from Wall Street too. Key U.S. equity indices finished between -0.2% and +0.1% at the closing bell amid concerns that the U.S. Federal Reserve's stimulus measures might not be effective to lift the economy.

It said at Bursa two counters expected to attract interest are TIME DOTCOM BHD [] and Emas Kiara.

Time dotCom announced that it would acquire three regional firms for RM339m and undertake a capital repayment (of 2 sen / share) as well as a capital reduction (to cancel 90 sen / share) cum consolidation (5-into1) corporate exercise.

As for Emas Kiara, it would be a cash rich company (with net assets of RM106m or RM1.26 per share) following its plan to dispose of its core business activity.
