#Update* Trading of PLUS suspended until Friday

KUALA LUMPUR: trading of PLUS EXPRESSWAYS BHD []'s securities was suspended from 9am on Thursday, Oct 14 to 5pm on Friday.

PLUS said before market opened on Thursday that the suspension was pursuant to a request by a major shareholder.

Khazanah Nasional Bhd is the largest shareholder with 55.24% or 2.76 billion shares while the Employees Provident Fund Board owned 12.27% ot 613.598 million shares and retirement fund Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP) 5.54% or 276.76 million shares.

On Sept 27, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government had not made any final decision on whether it should sell the PLUS Expressways.

A year ago, Asas Serba Sdn Bhd had mooted a plan to buy all the toll concessionaires in Malaysia for RM50 billion.

However, analysts were sceptical of Asas Serba's plan as it would be a costly affair, resistance from the shareholders and also funding issues.
