KUALA LUMPUR : The government has offered TENAGA NASIONAL BHD [] to develop the first unit of 1,000MW coal-fired power plant on the power giant's existing power plant site in Manjung, Perak.
Tenaga said the main fuel would be coal and commercial operation date is March 1, 2015.
The concession is to build, own and operate.
'Due to the strict requirements and standards set by Department of Environment with regards to emission, Tenaga will be developing the project by employing the latest supercritical boiler TECHNOLOGY [],' it said.
